Gaelin in a nutshell
Gaelin is a marine scientist, photographer, and filmmaker, but mostly she is an avid explorer who feels more at home in, on, and under the oceans than anywhere else on Earth. She has documented nature and science all over the world, and now she shares her experiences with live audiences through her speaking engagements. She has a special place in her heart for sperm whales and recently published a beautiful photo book of her expeditions diving with these “gentle giants.”
Why Gaelin is one of my heroes
I’m not sure when or how I first met Gaelin, but most likely is was around 2012 through The Explorers Club in New York. From the start, her passion for the oceans shone through, and it was infectious. Over the years, every TEC member I met had nothing but good things to say about her, and she truly exemplifies the values of the club. More recently, I was surprised to learn that she used to sing in a punk rock band, which solidified her place as one of my heroes!
